Family:  Cichlidae (Cichlids), subfamily: Pseudocrenilabrinae
Max. size:  10 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: endemic to Lake Malawi. Occurs on the coast between the Nsinje River outlet and the border with Mozambique.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 15-17; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-9; Anal soft rays: 6-7. Gill rakers on first ceratobranchial 7-10; gill rakers on first epibranchial 2-3.
