Biology: |
Inhabits mud- to gravel-bottomed pools and runs of small to large, low-elevation rivers and lakes. Usually occurs near emergent aquatic plants or overhanging banks. Rarely enters brackish water (Ref. 86798). Viviparous, female carries the developing young (Ref. 205). |
