Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Cyprininae
Max. size:  36.9 cm TL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 733.2 g
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, potamodromous
Distribution:  Asia: Thailand to Viet Nam and Malaysia.
Diagnosis:  Has 4 horizontal scale rows between lateral line and mid-dorsal scale row at dorsal-fin origin; 5-8 gill rakers in lower limb of first arch (Ref. 12693). Has 15-19 serrae along posterior edge of last simple dorsal ray (Ref. 43281).
Biology:  Found in medium to large rivers. May grow to at least 30 cm.
