Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-11; Anal soft rays: 10-11. Distinguished from all other Hemiodus species, except H. ternetzi and H. thayeria, by the presence of a dark longitudinal stripe extending from behind the eye or the opercle to the tip of the lower caudal fin lobe. This species is distinguished from H. ternetzi and H. thayeria by the possession of a dorsal fin oblique blotch, extending from its anterior distal portion through the middle basal portion of the fin. |
