Biology: |
Inhabits the littoral zone where the bottom is hard; especially common over exposed sandy beaches (Ref. 4983). Feeds mainly on gastropods, bottom deposits, which include insect larvae, copepods and diatoms, and Insecta (chiefly larval boring may-flies, Povilla adusta) (Ref. 558). |
