Diagnosis: | Vertebrae: 124-127. Description: Characterized by white to pale yellow color; 13-14 dark brown bars extending onto dorsal and anal fins; brown spots on head and in pale interspaces on body; body depth at gill opening 14-20; origin of dorsal fin above or slightly anterior to gill opening; anus anterior to middle of body; preanal length 2.2-2.3 in TL; short and conical snout, rounded anterior profile; single row of teeth on side of upper jaw (smaller individuals with inner row of 1-3 large teeth); finely serrate teeth on basal half (Ref. 90102). | |||
