Sensory pores nasal, posterior interorbital, and supraotic present, 2 preopercular pores present, anterior temporal and posterior temporal pores absent; head narrow, eyes large, interorbital narrow, diameter of orbit greater than width of bony interorbital; postmandibular and posterior gular barbels absent; jaw short, its length about 14-15% of SL; dark wedge on head descends to middle or lower portion of preopercle; light base of pectoral fin not divided by dark wedge; trunk with 5 prominent saddles and moderately mottled (Ref. 11637); characterized further by having cycloid scales; deeply embedded nape scales; depth of body 5.2-7.8 in SL (Ref. 90102). |
