Dorsal soft rays (total): 61-61; Anal soft rays: 50-51; Vertebrae: 46-47. Color uniform, brownish gray, darker dorsally; fins gray. Anterior ray of first dorsal fin smaller than eye diameter. Eyes small, less than 0.20 times HL. Gill rakers tuberculiform. Predorsal length relatively large, 24.4% SL. Lateral line with 8-7 distinct segments until the bend, with 3-4 in the bend and up to 9 sparsely arranged segments in the middle of the body. Head with 4 pores in the supraorbital canal, 12 in the infraorbital canal and 13 in the preoperculomandibular canal. Head large; 2nd dorsal and anal fins relatively short; pectorals long. Teeth are small, pointed, larger ones caniniform. Mouth relatively small, not reaching to below posterior edge of eye (Ref. 41608). |
