Dorsal soft rays (total): 25-28. Lateral trunk ridges deflected downwards and continuous with inferior tail ridge; inferior trunk and tail ridges not confluent; 16-17 trunk rings; tail rings 25-27; total rings 41-44; snout length 1.9-2.1 times in head length; body dark brown, without conspicuous series of darker spots on or above lateral trunk ridge (Ref. 36949). |
Usually found in river stretches with slow current, among grasses, roots or shore vegetation (Ref. 43281). Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205). |
