Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 450 - 525 m
Distribution:  Southeast Pacific: Peru-Chile Trench, Peru.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-6; Anal soft rays: 4-4; Vertebrae: 19-19. Whole body covered with extremely fine tubercles giving skin a velvety appearance. Mouth very wide. Cephalic lateral-line counts: subopercular 6, preopercular, 2. Tail lateral-line counts 13. Paired fins slender and weak; skin slightly puffy with fin membranes thin and translucent (Ref. 40826).
