Diagnosis: |
Anal soft rays: 12-14; Vertebrae: 33-34. Distinguished by having the following characters: length of internal ray of ventral fin very short, 15-30% of the long ray length; interorbital space wide and equal or slightly smaller than longitudinal eye diameter; palatine bones with teeth; fifth pore (pm5) of preoperculo-mandibular canal is usually paired; incomplete lateral canal with two to three autonomous segments at the end, with total number of pores from 13 + 2 + 2 + 2 to 23 + 2 + 2 (Ref. 93142). |
