Distinguished from closely related species Platytropius longianalis by the following characters: gill rakers 14; origin of dorsal fin beyond ventral fin, but not opposite; vomerine tooth and palatine tooth are separate in the shape of the latter, but not joined in the shape of half moon; mouth terminal, not mouth subinferior; maxillary barbels shorter, terminate before origin of anal fin, not behind the middle of anal fin (Ref. 87003). |
