Max. size:  10 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 5 - 186 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: found in the Hawaiian Islands. Strays found in Johnston Atoll (Ref. 9710).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits seaward reefs, in aggregations above at base of drop-offs (Ref. 9710). Benthopelagic (Ref. 58302). Feeds on zooplankton 1-2 m above the bottom (Ref. 9710). Minimum depth from Ref. 27115.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 25 March 2009 Ref. (130435)
