Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 330 - 485 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: off northwestern Madagascar.
Diagnosis:  Characterized by having no hump before dorsal fin, with small teeth on the outmost patches of the lower jaw small, and 5 scale rows above the lateral line; no teeth on tongue; snout length in horizontal orbit diameter 1.2; distance anus to anal-fin origin 28.1-31.0; lower-jaw symphysis without projections (Ref. 123109).
Biology:  It is found on the continental slope, at depths of 330 (Ref. 95095), to 485 meters (Ref. 123109). The largest specimen observed was 21.13 cm, standard length (Ref. 95095).
