Robust and rounded body. Head profile pointed, alike L. dumerili. HL about 23% SL. Adipose tissue forming a single small rim around the eye. Upper lip's thickness about 1/3 the eye diameter. Lower lip with a thin rim. Anterior edge of the upper jaw reaches the vertical limit of the anterior eye rim. Back silverish blue-grey, sides pale to silver-white with seven longitudinal grey lines. Anal and dorsal fins yellow. Caudal fin yellow with a black edge (Ref. 28587). |
Maximal length observed during the redescription is 43.9 cm SL (Ref. 89987). It seems to be a rare and large species throughout its distribution; only specimens > 25 cm were observed so far (Ref. 89987). It status for the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species is recommended as "Data Deficient" (Ref. 89987). |
