Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 300 m
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: Taiwan.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 3-3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-12; Anal soft rays: 7-7. This species is distinguished by the following characters: when fresh, the is body uniformly pinkish- or orange-red, mouth cavity light gray but darker in pharyngeal region, and gill chamber entirely black; tail short and stout (TL1 = 27.1-27.9% SL; TL2 = 13.5-16.1% SL; TL3 = 10.4-11.1% SL); lateral-line neuromast series: pectoral series 10 (rarely 11), body series 29-33; gill rakers of second gill arch 8-9, pectoral-fin rays13 (Ref. 127469).
