Dorsal soft rays (total): 48-49; Anal soft rays: 28-32; Vertebrae: 51-52. Can be diagnosed by having arc of mouth wide, length less than width, 58-59 lateral line scales, 51-52 vertebrae; 8-12 gill rakers on first arc, flat tongue with sucking thick circular arc, not accounting for all the mouth cavity width, and dark gray body with no stripes (Ref. 91062). |
