Dorsal spines (total): 14-14; Dorsal soft rays (total): 16-17; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 17-17. Description: Back and adjacent dorsal fin purple; rest of the body and fins lemon yellow. Eye with thin purple ring around it (Ref. 1602). Body depth 1.7-1.8 in SL. Scales longitudinal series 47-48 (Ref. 90102). |
This rare species is a secretive dweller of crevices and clefts in caves of outer reef drop-offs (Ref. 1602). Natural diet unknown; forms harems of 3-7 individuals. Almost never exported through the aquarium trade (Ref. 48391). Maximum depth reported taken from Ref. 128797. |
