Family:  Anthiadidae (Fairy basslets or Streamer basses)
Max. size:  47 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 55 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific, Lord Howe Island region to southern Queensland and New South Wales.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 10-10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 21-21; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 8-8; Vertebrae: 27-27. 15th-17th rays of the dorsal fin strongly elongated in relation to the other soft rays; caudal fin with deep notches above and below with very long median rays; vertebrae 27 (Ref. 43805).
Biology:  Found on the continental shelf. Benthic (Ref. 75154).
