Family:  Syngnathidae (Pipefishes and seahorses), subfamily: Syngnathinae
Max. size:  4.4 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 3 - 11 m
Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: northern Australia, including Baleine Bank and Montebello Island in Western Australia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Specimens have been collected from coral knolls. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205).
