This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following characters: no keel on abdomen (vs. median scales on abdomen behind pelvic-fin base forming a keel, in all other species); differs further from C. crassus in having 38-42 lateral-line scales (vs. 45-51), 8½-9½ branched anal-fin rays (vs. 11½-12½), and 9-11 branched pectoral-fin rays (vs. 12-14); differs further from C. jaya in the number of lateral-line scales 38-42 (vs. 52-60) and branched anal-fin rays 8½-9½ (vs. 7½); differs from C. ukhrulensis in the number of total lateral-line scales 38-42 (vs 35–37), branched pectoral-fin rays 9-11 (vs. 12-13) and predorsal scales 19-23 (vs. 14-16); differs from C. morar in the number of predorsal scales 19-23 (vs. 17-18), scale rows between dorsal-fin origin and lateral-line scales 7½ (vs. 5½), and branched pectoral-fin rays 9-11 (vs. 13–14) (Ref. 130120). |
