Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to Lake Malawi; more abundant in the southern part of the lake.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Reportedly caught at a depth of 18 m near Rifu Point, in an area consisting of sandy and swampy shores (Ref. 5595).
