This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: branchiostegal rays 7; scapular foramen open; narrow cranium; smooth ceratohyal-epihyal articulation; well developed palatal arch; no supratemporal commissure and occipital pores; reduced intercalar, displaced backward; smooth ceratohyal-epihyal juncture, well-developed palatal arch and parasphenoid wing reaching mid-height of the trigeminofacialis foramen; presence of scales, lateral line, pelvic fins, pseudobranch, pyloric caeca, vomerine and palatine teeth (Ref. 81218). |
