Max. size:  16.1 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 357 - 550 m
Distribution:  Southwestern Pacific Ocean: Solomon Islands, Fiji and New Caledonia (Ref. 79665).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 203-221; Anal soft rays: 164-177; Vertebrae: 117-119. Distinguished by the following characters: tail slender and flexible; snout projecting beyond lower jaw, tip fleshy, extending beyond intermaxillary teeth; flange on upper lip rudimentary or absent; adnasal pore absent, some head pores enlarged; teeth moderate to slightly enlarged, intermaxillary patch exposed when mouth closed, vomerine teeth in a short rounded patch; preorbital bone with three ventral projections; stomach and intestine black (Ref. 79665).
