Max. size:  75 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater,
Distribution:  Africa: Endemic and occurring throughout Lake Malawi (Nyasa).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs at a depth of 30 m and deeper, in rocky areas. Feeds on rock-inhabiting species during the night (Ref. 5595). Prefers rocky substrates and feeds exclusively on fish (Ref. 78218).
