Max. size:  3.54 cm SL (male/unsexed); 2.83 cm SL (female)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: hill streams near Chittagong in Bangladesh. No other material available east of the Ganges, adjacent Indian states of Tripura or Mizoram, or the eastern coast of Myanmar, but absence may be due to insufficient collecting.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 16-18; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-11; Anal soft rays: 6-9; Vertebrae: 28-29. Possesses a conspicuous dark blotch covering superficial part of cleithrum above the pectoral fin base; absence of a dark blotch on its dorsolateral aspect of caudal peduncle. Body depth 29.8-34.0%SL; interorbital width 5.5-6.7%SL. A series of prominent dark blotches present along middle of dorsal fin. Distal extrascapular present.
