Max. size:  3.49 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: small branch of the Hongshuihe River, Pearl River drainage in China.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 3-3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 7-7. Distinguished from all congeners by the absence of a lateral line and a large black spot on the caudal-fin base (Ref. 93177).
Biology:  Found in small, shallow, turbid, canalized stream with low flow rate and aquatic plants covering almost half of the water (Ref. 93177). The stream is exposed to frequent local disturbance such as the presence of the ducks in the water. The sampling site is near a water treatment plant (Ref. 93177).
