Remarks Found on the shelf, over sandy and muddy bottoms as well as seagrass-beds and estuaries (Also Ref. 9773). Gregarious, sometimes forming sizeable schools. Feeds on worms, mollusks and small crustaceans (Also Ref. 9773). Also in Ref. 37413. Inhabits shallow waters and estuaries despite being intolerant of low salinities (Ref. 9773).
