| Quote | Woods in Schultz et al. 1966, tentively identified this species as .Aseraggodes melanostictus, largely because of its having nearly the same dorsal and anal rays, and lateral line scale counts as given by Peters (1877) for his holotype. This study corrects the lateral line scale count of Peter's specimen from 70 to 79 (vs. 67-69 for heraldi), as a result of including those on the head before the upper end of the gill opening. |
