Biology     Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)

Cave-restricted species. Inhabits headwater stream with a relatively low volume of water flowing over rocks, alternating with small pools and gravel-bottomed shallow reaches (Ref. 42927). Few individuals were seen adhering to rocks in fast-flowing, well-aerated water or swimming in the pools (Ref. 42927). Exhibits agonistic behavior upon encounter (Ref. 42927). Feeds on benthic microorganisms (Ref. 58784).

Estimates of some properties based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82805):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00631 (0.00296 - 0.01347), b=3.04 (2.86 - 3.22), in cm Total Length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic Level (Ref. 69278):  2.7   ±0.2 se; Based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilience (Ref. 69278):  High, minimum population doubling time less than 15 months (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (17 of 100) .
