Short description Morphology | Morphometrics

D IV 10: A 3/6; L. lat. 26-29. The body is more elongate than in the other members of the genus; mouth almost terminal; the striae on the scales are parallel (as in all congeneric species). There is no anterior pair of barbels; the barbels of the posterior pair are shorter and the last unbranched ray of the dorsal less ossified (than congeneric species). It is subject to a rather strong geographic variation, mainly in respect of the number of scales (Ref. 57642).

Estimates of some properties based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82805):  PD50 = 0.5078   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01000 (0.00244 - 0.04107), b=3.04 (2.81 - 3.27), based on all LWR estimates for this body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic Level (Ref. 69278):  2.9   ±0.4 se; Based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilience (Ref. 69278):  Medium, minimum population doubling time 1.4 - 4.4 years (Assuming Fec < 10,000).
Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Moderate vulnerability (37 of 100) .
