Etymology: Bodianus: Bodianus after Bodiano or Pudiano, from the Portuguese pudor, meaning modesty (Jordan & Evermann, 1896).;  scrofa: Name fromg feminine Latin noun meaning breeding sow, apparently refers to the common name hogfish (Ref. 75973).
